Shahab Sheikh Nuri

About this projectدەربارەی ئەم پڕۆژەیە

An archive built by his familyئەرشیفێک کە خێزانەکەی بنیاتی ناوە

This site is a family undertaking, begun ahead of the fiftieth anniversary of his execution on 21 November 2026, to gather in one place what history, comrades, and kitchen-table memory hold about Xala Shahab.

Sourcesسەرچاوەکان

The narrative on these pages draws on transcripts of the documentary about Xala Shahab, including the testimonies of Faraidun Abdel Kader, Arsalan Baiz, Ibrahim Jalal, Narmin Othman, Runak Sheikh Janab, Mohammed Sabir and Mam Jalal; on Nawshirwan Mustafa's published memoir of the period; and on documents held in public collections, among them a 1976 PUK Europe statement on the executions preserved in the Kurdish Digital Archive at the University of Exeter. Family memory and documented history are kept distinguishable in our records, and corrections are welcome.

Photographsوێنەکان

Photographs from the family archive are being scanned and cleared for publication. They will appear in a green duotone treatment, in keeping with the memorial's identity; touch or hover restores each image's true colors.

Languageزمان

The site is being built in English and Kurdish (Sorani). The testimonies were spoken in Kurdish; the English on these pages is a working translation, and the original Kurdish text and audio will replace the placeholders as the family approves them.

Contributeبەشداری بکە

If you hold photographs, letters, documents, recordings, or memories of Xala Shahab, of Komalla, or of the events of 1975 and 1976, the family would be honored to include them. Every contribution is catalogued with its source, and nothing is published without permission.
